The members of NOBLE represent the communities most impacted by policing. I believe we are the leaders of the policing industry charged with providing equitable police services for all our citizens. Our communities cannot be healthy if inequitable policing is allowed to exist. As we experience unprecedented instances of force being used unnecessarily by the police in America, NOBLE should be leading the national discussion on best practices in policing and leading by example.
NOBLE’s mission statement reads, “To ensure equity in the administration of justice in the provision of public service to all communities, and to serve as the conscience of law enforcement by being committed to justice by action.” NOBLE will lead the way as our country grapples with the struggles of policing, and we will listen to our communities, build relationships, and work to develop the positive changes that are being asked for in America. NOBLE will be the first organization our government reaches out to as we tackle the law enforcement issues that concern American citizens the most. We will be the example that other nations will look to for how policing should be done.
As Second VP, I will ensure our associate members have a voice by including them on our committees. I will also support NOBLE initiatives for educational opportunities designed to position our members for advancement in their respective agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.
I have served on our national executive board as financial secretary and treasurer, and while we are fiscally strong, there are areas of improvement that need to be addressed. As Second VP, I will ensure we address our areas for improvement, create efficiencies, and eliminate redundancies that hamper our business practices and jeopardize NOBLE’s reputation. I will also ensure we are transparent in all that we do to our members and sponsors.
Law enforcement is plagued by some of the highest levels of suicide, divorce, financial issues, alcohol, substance use disorder, and domestic violence incidents, all of which are directly related to the trauma law enforcement practitioners are exposed to throughout their careers. As Second VP, I will ensure NOBLE leads the national conversation on officer wellness. If our officers are not physically, emotionally, and psychologically fit, our communities will suffer and will, likewise, be unhealthy.
